It’s no secret that everyone loves a bargain. For this post, I’ve decided to share with you my top beauty products under £20, which certainly won’t break the bank.
Freedom Pro Brow Pomade – £5.00
I bought this on a whim and now I adore it. I can never go a day without wearing this brow product. I apply this with a stiff angled brush using quick small strokes, it can be built up to create an intense eyebrow look or used lightly for those ‘no makeup, makeup days’. I follow this by using the Rimmel Clear Brow Gel (£3.99) to set the hairs making sure they don’t budge throughout the day.
Coco Brown 1 Hour Instant Tan – £7.99
Tanning streaks are a thing of the past with this tanning mouse. Perfect for those last minute nights out, as the name implies it takes just 1 hour to take you from Snow White to bronzed goddess.

Thick and Fast HD Mascara (Soap and Glory) – £10.50
This mascara may be on the pricier side compared to other mascaras, but seriously, if you haven’t already, you NEED to check this out. I actually got this in a Soap and Glory gift set at Christmas, and only recently opened it for the first time. My god, I have been missing out. I honestly don’t think I will find a mascara as good as this one. It adds definition and thickness to my lashes without looking cakey.
Barry M Illuminating Strobe Cream in Iced Bronze – £4.49
I always swore by using powdered highlighters because I suffer from oily/combination skin. I happened to fall upon this cream highlighter on a spontaneous browse in Boots one day. This highlighter gives that ‘glow from within’ effect. To apply, I either use straight from the applicator or by using my fingers. I add to the tops of my cheek bones, tip of my nose and cupids bow (upper lip). I put this on underneath my foundation, then before setting my foundation with powder, I will add another small amount to the places I originally applied. If I want a ‘popping’ highlight (which is most days, c’mon who doesn’t), I will go over it with one of my powder highlighters.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – £4.19
No doubt you have probably heard of the hype about this concealer by many a beauty blogger, but I thought it deserved a little mention here on my blog too. This concealer covers blemishes easily and helps to eliminate the look of dark circles. This concealer can be used as an under eye highlight to brighten, yet conceal the area.
L’Oreal 24H-Matte Infallible Waterproof Foundation – £8.99
As mentioned earlier, I suffer from oily skin, so I stay clear of dewy foundations. I heard about this item through YouTube, so thought I’d give it a try. This foundation is now my go to! Since the very moment I bought this, I don’t think I have used another foundation. It goes on super smooth and has high coverage without looking heavy. I’m not so sure about the ‘waterproof’ aspect of the foundation, I don’t plan on trying this out. It is a true matte foundation, some days I don’t even have to powder throughout the day. I must point out though, that unfortunately the shade range isn’t all that great for darker skin tones.
OPI Nail Polish (Turn on the Haute Light) – £6.95
This nail polish is perfect for when you can’t decide on a colour that will match an outfit. It is a metallic silver polish that is so versatile and can be paired with any look. The polish itself only really requires one coat because of how opaque it is. When the sun shines on your fingers and toes, it reflects a somewhat iridescent glow. I find myself always reaching for this colour from my collection over any other polish. It seems to last longer than other polishes and doesn’t chip easily. I got this polish in the OPI Coca Cola Collection a few years ago, it included another two polishes, Coca Cola Red and A Grape Affair. I think the collection, as a whole, has since been discontinued, but each polish can be bought individually online.
Tangle Teezer – £11.00
Growing up with curly hair wasn’t all that it cracked up to be. Tears, tantrums and tats all because of my hair. I was about 15 when I first discovered Tangle Teezer brushes, funnily enough it was on a flight home from Turkey in one of those airline magazines. I have never used any other brush since finding the Tangle Teezer, it gets knots out easily and doesn’t damage my hair. It’s a must have item for any girl with curly hair. I would actually recommend this for any hair type.
Ardell False Lashes Wispies – £5.49
I love, love, love these eye lashes. I first heard about these via beauty gurus on YouTube. These lashes look sooooo natural and give length and volume without looking overly false. I usually wear these lashes when I’m going on a night out, they add the finishing touch to any eye look. I use DUO False Lash Glue (£4.99) in clear white to fix these babies to my lash line. The lashes can be used multiple times if taken care of.
All of the products mentioned above (except the false lashes) I incorporate into my daily routine. I have tried many affordable makeup and beauty items over the years, but currently these are my holy grails. I hope that this may be of some use to those of you that are on a budget.
I’d like to hear your recommendations of bargain beauty buys, leave a comment I’ll check them out.
