False lashes are the ultimate icing on the cake when applying makeup. Lashes can completely change up your entire face and can take a makeup look from day to night in a matter of minutes. I typically only wear false lashes when I’m hitting the town, but with the global pandemic making this impossible right now, I’ve been rocking the falsies to my local supermarket…needs must, am I right?
I have partnered with Jolie Beauty to showcase their stunning collection of 4D Luxury Faux Mink Lashes. The Mink industry is extremely disgusting and inhumane, so I’m so glad Jolie Beauty have created a line of cruelty-free and vegan false lashes. Apparently, each pair of their lashes can be used up to 30 times, and with a price tag of £9.99 per pack you are getting a huge bargain.
The Review
I have always struggled to apply false lashes. After years of practice, I am still no better at it then when I first started wearing makeup, so it did take me a while to apply them.
I was kindly gifted 4 pairs of the 4D Faux Mink Lashes in the following styles: Lillie, Vivienne, April and Melody. I was also sent the Jolie Beauty Lash Lock clear eyelash glue. The lashes themselves are quite long, even the most subtle pair (Lillie) are very dramatic. I also had to cut them to size, but this is pretty standard with false lashes.
Now, I always pride myself in being 100% honest with my audience, so with that being said, the Lash Lock glue just didn’t work for me. I followed the instructions, applied the glue to the lash band and waited over 30 seconds for the glue to become tacky, however the lashes would not stick down properly at all. I managed to apply one lash using the Jolie Beauty glue, but I couldn’t get the second lash to stay put. I had to use my own lash glue to get this to work instead.
Apart from my disaster with the glue, the quality of the lashes are really good, considering how affordable they are. I do have one negative thing to add here though, I wasn’t particularly fond of the clear band. Surprisingly, I found it more noticeable than when black lash bands are used, but the problem was easily solved with a little eyeliner.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really like the faux mink lashes. They are a little more dramatic to what I’m normally accustomed to, but they are very stunning. I shared a photograph of me wearing the gorgeous style Lillie over on my Instagram. Lillie and April are my two favourite styles. It would be great if Jolie Beauty launched half lashes or more wearable everyday lashes.
Sadly, I was left disappointed with the Lash Lock glue, but I will continue to play around with it to see if I can make it work.
Do you like the look of Jolie Beauty’s Faux Mink Lashes? What are your favourite style?

I’ve never worn false lashes and I’m still kind of on the fence about them but I really do like the look of these ones. Great tip about the lash glue as I’m pretty sure I’d find that quite frustrating!

I’d recommend starting with a subtle natural pair and working your way up to something a little more dramatic!x

Ahh, you should try individual lashes or half lashes. They’re a lot less noticeable on the eyes x

I love the look of April! I usually wear individuals when I wear fake lashes, so I suck at applying strip lashes because I do it so rarely. I don’t know how other people seem to do it so easily?? I never usually like the glue that comes with them, so that wasn’t a huge shock. They’re really pretty styles if you like a bolder lash though! x

I’ve never tried individual lashes before, I’ve always used strip lashes. I still struggle to apply then, no matter which lash brand I use x

Shame about the glue but the lashes sound fab! I used to wear lashes ALL THE TIME as a teen but I haven’t worn them in like, a decade. I tried some a little while ago and I’ve just forgotten how to apply them haha!

OMG this post has got me excited for getting glammed up!! Feels like an age since I wore any fake lashes and I love the look of these faux mink ones. Shame about the glue, I’ve actually recently got into magnetic lashes, they’re so good because there is no mess!

I haven’t worn lashes in a long time, however always found the glues to work better the drier they became & the more I’d used them. It’s been such a long time I’ve probably lost the knack for applying them! Fab pictures too hun!

I agree with the clear band bit, they always seem more noticable than the black one for some reason…
